There are budget billing options for customers on fixed rate contracts with Constellation. Based on your energy consumption the year before, Constellation estimates your usage for the year to come, and divides it up over an entire 12 month period. Every three months, Constellation tracks your consumption to be sure you are paying an appropriate amount, and will make adjustments where necessary. Budget billing plans are favored by some customers because they even out prices throughout the year.
Renewable Wind Energy
Constellation's green energy customers are supplied with renewable wind energy. This energy source is green because it does not have negative environmental impacts in electricity generation. In contrast, traditional non-renewable sources like natural gas are often used to generate electricity, releasing pollutants and burning a limited resource at the same time.
Green energy plans are only available with Constellation in Pennsylvania and Maryland at this time.
Customers can earn rewards for paying their bills on time, and for the amount of energy consumed. Rewards include gift cards, bill credits, and cashback.
Customer Reviews of Constellation
Some consumers have been impressed with their savings after joining Constellation. Additionally, there are 100% green energy, fixed-rate options so that consumers can save and make environmentally-conscious decisions at the same time. Other consumers appreciate the company's reward offers.
However, there is some concern about deceptive business practices and hidden contractual obligations. Some consumers have stated that Constellation automatically enrolls them in a variable rate plan at the end of a contract period, without notification, and rates skyrocket afterwards. Others feel that Constellation's customer service contacts customers too frequently.
