Clearview Energy Plans
Clearview Energy offers both variable and fixed rate green energy plans, in which customers receive electricity generated 100% generated from renewable sources. On Green Energy Guaranteed plans, customers receive their energy from 100% wind generated sources.
With green variable rate plans, there is no cancellation fee and the price of electricity changes on a monthly basis. Customers must give 30 days notice to terminate a variable plan.
On fixed rate green electricity plans, rates remain the same for the entire contract period. There is an early cancellation fee that ranges from $100-150, and contract periods range from 6-12 months. The availability of fixed rate plans depends on your service area.
For each new enrollment in a renewable electricity plan, Clearview Energy plants a tree through the Arbor Day Foundation.
Traditional Fixed & Variable Rate Plans
Depending on your service area, you may have the option to enroll in traditional variable rate plans, where the price changes on a monthly basis but electricity comes from traditional (primarily non-renewable) sources. There is also no early cancellation fee.

Customer Reviews of Clearview Energy
Fixed rate plans may help consumers to save over time, in comparison to their local utility. However, Clearview Energy's sales tactics are considered deceptive by some consumers.
Customers report that variable rates end up increasing exponentially, and they are left with bills that are higher than their local utility.
